English in Spain and the EU

I am an English teacher. It seems to be one of the simplest ways for those of us who are native English speakers (and even non-natives who speak English at a native-like level) to get to live and work in Spain.
As you can see from the map above (Knowledge of English in the European Union, according to: “Special Eurobarometer 243″ of the European Commission with the title “Europeans and their Languages” - December 2006), according to the European Union Spain is not very high up on the English speaking scale. Even France has a higher level! A lot could be said about this situation, but one result seems to be is that there is often a pretty good demand for English teachers in Spain, especially in the major cities.
